Facility Management As A Quality Management Tool
Achieving recognition, presence and relevance within your organisation

“it cannot be overlooked that SLAs and indicators are part of a process, the FM process. They are not just tools that can be used as independent procedures with no relationship among them, they must be integrated within the process…”

Introduction to Workshop

All public and private organisations have different needs where FM plays a role. Private FM Market is moving towards bigger, more global contracts: Clients are looking for companies with EMEA coverage and service providers are desperate to prove their capabilities over a larger number of countries. Public sector sees FM as the long term tool for service satisfaction using PPP approaches such as PFI schemes.
When addressing these multi-country contacts or these long term relationships, the same “language” must be spoken by all parts involved. This normalisation will bring recognition and solid growth to the discipline. As part of this normalisation process a new aspect arises: “there are enough tools and methodology to assist organisations in a more complete manner ” to integrate FM discipline as a “support quality management tool” for the organisation”. Proper use and definition of Service Level Agreements and correct description and implementation of associated indicators are key to ensure that FM achieves the objectives bringing the discipline to a higher level within organisations.

  • Normalisation in Facility Management. The EN 15221 series.
