Situated in the republic of Maldives, the city of Hulhumalé is planned intelligently to become a smart city incorporating a mix of urban and island life.
The city remains a global tourist hub with its accessibility to world class resort beaches, diving spots and clear waters. Promising great accessibility, Hulhumalé remains the only island which is connected directly to the Ibrahim Nasir International Airport, and is located within a 5 minute ride to the capital city, Malé.
With development plans to take the Maldivian tourism industry to the next level, an integrated tourism island, Heritage Island, Yacht Marina, Cruise Terminal as well as City Hotels are open for investment in Hulhumalé-many of which will be the first of its kind developments in the Maldives.
Further in alignment with the government’s plan to create a liveable city for the future generations, commercial and recreational developments such as the country’s first shopping mall and water theme park and various ranges of residential developments have been proposed. To build its way towards a smart and sustainable future, a special economic zone featuring an IT Park, Financial District and Knowledge Park will set to become an integral part of Hulhumalé.
The Maldives vaunts a favourable investment climate, offering an income tax free environment, with business profit tax maintained at 15% and offerings of residential benefits for investors. Hulhumalé also has readily available utility connections and allows for extended lease periods and longer grace periods for investment recovery.
Located 4km off the North East Coast of Malé, the capital of Maldives and 3km from Ibrahim Nasir International Airport lies Hulhumalé, the first planned city in the Maldives. As the most ambitious land reclamation project undertaken in the country to date, Hulhumalé is expected to accommodate 240,000 residents within a land mass of over 400 hectares.
Managed by the government owned Housing Development Corporation Ltd (HDC), Hulhumalé has now grown to incorporate projects concentrating on sectors such as tourism, residential, commercial, IT, finance and education.
HDC is proud to announce that Hulhumalé is open for investment.
