Founder, Vittorio Grassi Architetto & Partners
Born in 1968, Vittorio gets his Master Degree at the Faculty of Architecture of the Polytechnic of Milan.
In 1993 he goes to Paris where he works for two years improving his technical knowledge and successfully working on a series of international competitions.
In 1995 he moves to London where he collaborates with Rick Mather Architects. During this period Vittorio develops a great professional experience by working on urban and universities masterplans, museum projects, historic buildings renovations and low energy running buildings and he got registered in the Architects Registration Board UK.
In 1997 he is called by Renzo Piano in Genoa – Italy with whom he works for 9 years as associate architect on projects ranging from complex building types in Italy, Boston and Sarajevo, up to urban masterplans in Lisbon and Trento.
In 2005 he leaves the Renzo Piano Building Workshop and founds Vittorio Grassi Architetto & Partners in Milan and in 2013 he founds Vittorio Grassi Architetto & DCA Partners in Paris.
The studio is composed of professionals from different nationalities, organized in compact and flexible groups of collaborators and it retains international or local consultants as required for each project.
The firm conceives and develops a great variety of projects ranging from urban master planning to public building projects, leisure and residential complexes, corporate and commercial buildings.
During the 13 years of practice, the company has been working in Italy, Russia, France, Turkey, Tunisia, Algeria and Kuwait and boasting a series of victories in international design competitions.
In January 2018 the firm inaugurated in Milan the Antica Cà Litta project for Unipolsai Assicurazioni Spa. The side of the building complex facing via Pantano has been restored as historical apartments while the other side on Corso di Porta Romana has been refurbished and extended as high-end offices. Current projects under construction include: the Sports Hall of Lamezia Terme, a multipurpose arena designed with particular attention to athletes with disabilities and Paralympic sports; a complex of three luxury Villas in Shuwaikh, the exclusive urban district of Kuwait City, with flowing stoned facades and curvy volumes that play with each other creating private or shared spaces; the
renovation and roof extension of an historical building in Via Principe Amedeo 5, in Milan developing multitenant smart offices with a part dedicated to the co-working; a Residential Block in Ouled Fayet, on the hilly area of the city of Algiers, an accurate interpretation of the local Building Regulation which guarantees high quality standards thanks to the linear terraces with a
good view over the Mediterranean Sea.
Vittorio has also lectured at the AA School of Architecture in London, the University of Cape Town and various Italian universities. Since 2008 he is visiting professor at the Master School of the Polytechnic of Milan.
Vittorio Grassi is a RIBA Chartered Architect and is registered to the Italian, British and French National Registers of Architects.
