Award categories

Categories are separated into Built Projects (those with a minimum of one phase completed and operational within the last 3 years) and Future Projects (those commenced onsite but not yet completed).  

Unique project details:

The judges are looking for distinguishing reasons why your project should win the award. Ensure you address the question rather than including generic information.

Both the developer and the architect will be recognised for their contribution to the winning projects in each of the following categories:  

Commercial Project Award - BUILT

Description: A building or complex of single commercial use

Examples: Office buildings, factories, warehouses, logistics and distribution facilities

Eligibility: Project have a minimum of one phase completed and operational within the last 3 years

Commercial Project Award - FUTURE

Description: A building or complex of single commercial use

Examples: Office buildings, factories, warehouses, logistics and distribution facilities

Eligibility: Project commenced onsite but not yet completed or have the ground cleared for construction to begin

Leisure & Hospitality Project Award - BUILT

Description: A building or complex that provides a leisure and/or hospitality function(s)

Examples: Hotels, serviced apartments, sports & leisure facilities, restaurants

Eligibility: Project have a minimum of one phase completed and operational within the last 3 years

Leisure & Hospitality Project Award - FUTURE

Description: A building or complex that provides a leisure and/or hospitality function(s)

Examples: Hotels, serviced apartments, sports & leisure facilities, restaurants

Eligibility: Project commenced onsite but not yet completed or have the ground
cleared for construction to begin

Community, Culture & Tourism Project - BUILT

Description: A public building or complex for the arts or serving the community

Examples: Museums, visitor centres, educational facilities, hospitals, religious buildings, airports

Eligibility: Project have a minimum of one phase completed and operational within the last 3 years

Community, Culture & Tourism Project - FUTURE

Description: A public building or complex for the arts or serving the community

Examples: Museums, visitor centres, educational facilities, hospitals, religious buildings, airports

Eligibility: Project commenced onsite but not yet completed or have the ground cleared for construction to begin

Residential - Low to Medium Rise Project - BUILT

Description: A residential development of a minimum of 10 units (G+10 and below)

Examples: Villa/townhouse complex, apartments, low rise towers (G+10 and below)

Eligibility: Project have a minimum of one phase completed and operational within the last 3 years

Residential - Low to Medium Rise Project - FUTURE

Description: A residential development of a minimum of 10 units (G+10 and below)

Examples: Villa/townhouse complex, apartments, low rise towers (G+10 and below)

Eligibility: Project commenced onsite but not yet completed or have the ground cleared for construction to begin

Residential - Medium to High Rise Project - BUILT

Description: A residential development of a minimum of 10 units (G+11 and above)

Examples: Apartments, high rise towers (G+11 and above)

Eligibility: Project have a minimum of one phase completed and operational within the last 3 years

Residential - Medium to High Rise Project - FUTURE

Description: A residential development of a minimum of 10 units (G+11 and above)

Examples: Apartments, high rise towers (G+11 and above)

Eligibility: Project commenced onsite but not yet completed or have the ground cleared for construction to begin

Masterplan Project Award - BUILT

Description: A single or mixed-use master plan development, with a minimum of 250 hectares

Eligibility: Project have a minimum of one phase completed and operational within the last 3 years

Masterplan Project Award - FUTURE

Description: A single or mixed-use master plan development, with a minimum of 250 hectares

Eligibility: Project commenced onsite but not yet completed or have the ground cleared for construction to begin

Affordable Housing – Judge’s Special Commendation

(OPTIONAL) To be considered for this special commendation award, provide justification about why this project is "affordable" (max. 250 words) (optional)

This award recognises the importance of the affordable housing sector and showcases the innovation being applied to social and affordable housing projects. We are looking for the best examples of recent multi-occupancy residential builds,
from apartment blocks to university campuses, submissions can be of any size, scale and proportion.

Sustainability Project Award*

Description: Provide information and proven results demonstrating an outstanding level of commitment to built environment in general and property development in particular, have a significant impacts on all aspects of sustainability: economic, social and environmental sustainability as well as diffusion of environmentally positive technology. 

 

* Please note you can nominate your BUILT occupied project for the Sustainability Project Award in addition to ONE of the categories above.
