Peter Jackson | Architect Advisor, HH Ruler’s Office, Sharjah

Through his long career, Peter Jackson has worked in Oman, UAE, Jordan, UK, Zambia, Botswana, Mozambique, and in Zimbabwe where he had his own architectural partnership. Early in his career, Peter worked with John R Harris Architects. He returned to Dubai in 2002, but over the last 12 years, as Architect Advisor in HH Ruler’s Office, Sharjah, has been involved in heritage work and the planning and design of notable museums and visitor centres in the Emirate. In 2016, one of his projects, Al Hefiayah Mountain Conservation Centre, was awarded the best Education Project of the Year by Middle East Architect. He has served as Chairman of the English Chapter of the UAE Architectural Heritage Society, and was a founding member of the RIBA Gulf Chapter. He has written numerous papers on architectural history and conservation, and published 2 books (Historic Buildings of Harare in 1986, and in 2017 “Windtower”, co-authored with Dr. Anne Coles).
