Herald Bonnici is a management consultant who specialises in financial engineering, project management and project finance. He is currently pursuing activities related to private equity and venture capital, trade finance, shipping finance and real estate where he supports a number of companies raise finance with projects worth in excess of €300 million. He sits on the board of several companies as a Non-Executive Director, including trade finance and the distribution of petroleum and energy products.

He was previously CEO Malta Government Investments which acts as a sovereign wealth fund with a portfolio of companies with a high-level pricing of €400 million. In addition to pursuing activities related to the securitisation of assets and private equity he founded a network of sovereign wealth funds covering Europe, the Middle East and North Africa with an estimated investment potential equal to USD $700-850 billion in the region where he was appointed as COO. Previously Herald occupied the position of Director General (Financial Policy and Management) within the Ministry for Finance where he was responsible for financial policies and procedures, financial markets, pay benchmarking and Key Performance Indicators. He also led the reform of the vehicle registration tax and licensing regimes. At the Ministry for Finance he represented Malta on a number of high-level European Union fora, including the Financial Services Committee and the Tax Policy Group. At the National Statistics Office he had also occupied the position of Chief Co-ordinator of the Census of Population and Housing that had been undertaken in 2005.

His interests include strategic planning, business process engineering, ESG, sustainable development, innovation in addition to alternative investments in the EMENA region


- Herald Bonnici

Don Hun Jang started to work in April 2022 as a Senior Advisor in Yulchon LLC, a major law firm in Korea. Previously, he had senior management oversight of POBA investments as a CIO for more than 6 years totaling around US$ 17 bil. and led the strategic expansion in overseas investment area, reflecting the growing importance of asset size and portfolio diversification. He was responsible for portfolio investments including equity, fixed income, and alternatives. Previously, Mr. Jang was the Assistant Director in the Financial Supervisory Services (FSS) of Korea. With 34 years of experience in the Korean investment industry including managing equity and PEF portfolios for the National Pension Service, he is an all-rounded investment executive, who has worked across multiple functions including the CEO of AllianceBernstein Asset Management (Korea) and across private and government sectors.

He has been a member of investment advisory committees for Bank of Korea, Government Employees Pension Service, Police Mutual Aid, Mutual Aid for Small Enterprises & Enterprisers, Firefighter Mutual Aid, National Housing Fund, Scientists & Engineers Mutual Aid, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power. Mr. Jang earned a MBA from University of Iowa and a Ph.D. from Dongguk University.

Jeroen Winkelman is a senior real assets professional with extensive international experience in indirect (non-listed, listed,  JV’s, Club investments) and private equity real estate and infrastructure investments. Over his career he has held several senior positions both at the investment side as well as the sell-side with institutional investors, fund platforms and private equity companies. Experienced throughout the value chain such as Strategy, Business & product development, investment management, fund management, property development and asset management. Strong and diverse network of investors, managers and advisors in the EMEA region. Jeroen studied Real Estate (MRE), Hotel & Business Administration and management, Marketing and languages, and is member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors . Extensive Board seat experience with 10 mayor international real estate investment companies.

Jeroen is a Dutch national and citizen of The Netherlands and lived and worked in the UK, Netherlands, Central Europe and France.

- Jeroen Winkelman

Olivier Ghattas has 25 years of experience in the Gulf countries, working mainly in investment banking and Real Estate. He started his career in 1998 in Saudi Arabia working for a family office handling the commercial activities of their real estate division. The mandate was both for international commercial acquisitions, and domestic property development activities. In 2007, he joined BNP Paribas Real Estate to develop the franchise in the GCC countries, covering strategic clients such as Sovereign Wealth Funds, Investment banks and family offices to acquire commercial properties in Europe. BNP Paribas Real Estate Gulf became rapidly one of the leading capital market company, generating an average volume of $1bln transaction per year.

From 2019 to 2023, he was promoted as Head of Financial and Official Institutions MEA for BNP Paribas, implementing a sustainable and productive strategy for BNP Paribas´ franchise across its service line offering to strategic clients.
